Ghanaian rapper Edem says he hasn’t made any fortune as a rapper.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the rapper stated that Ghanaians do not enjoy rap music hence its low patronage.

According to the ‘Nyornuviade’ hitmaker, most of his songs enjoyed in the country have very little rap elements but lots of singing.

“My rap songs never paid. My endorsement wasn’t because of rap. My biggest song is ‘Nyornuviade’… the biggest money maker is my ‘Over Again’ song and ‘Koene’,” he said.

Speaking on what he thinks has contributed to the fate of rap music in Ghana, Edem said the fan base of rap artists does not support them strongly.

He also blamed DJs for not promoting the genre.
